It’s official! The ISA Edmonton Exhibit & Conference’s new name – ISA Automation Expo & Conference – is here to stay, but with a twist…

In January 2014, the ISA Edmonton Exhibit & Conference Team announced this strategic marketing move:

With the International Society of Automation’s (ISA) global growth, they continue to set the standard for automation. In 2008, the ISA voted to rename the society to the “International Society of Automation”, recognizing the fact that its technical scope had grown beyond instruments. In accordance with this direction the ISA Edmonton 2014 Exhibit & Conference Team has decided to follow suit and change the show name, expanding the scope of the show.

Effective immediately, the name of the ISA Edmonton show will change to “Automaton Expo & Conference Edmonton 2014” presented by the ISA Edmonton Section.

Our goal is to generate greater awareness about the show in Alberta’s automation world and among our province’s automation professionals.

The name change (as well as some of the other new marketing initiatives) proved to be a success; the ISA Automation Expo & Conference Edmonton 2014 had nearly a 20% increase in overall attendance!

Due to the success, the ISA Edmonton section voted to move forward and formally brand the show. The branding project was done this past summer.

Here’s the twist! The show will now be marketed with the acronym, AEC. The official full name of the show is “ISA Automation Expo & Conference”. 

“The goal of this branding project was to give the show it’s own fresh identity. The direction was modern, clean and professional. I think we did a great job of achieving this with the new logo”, says Heidi Dennis, AEC Marketing Partner.

“Now that we have a new look and feel, it’s important to keep building on this momentum. We’re very excited about our new website and we have many more initiatives planned for the future”, says Marietta Miller, AEC Event Manager.
